  • FIRST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH Brush & Banter is offered as an instructor-led step-by-step painting class designed to tap into your inner artist while socializing with friends!

    $40 per class, advance registration required. Canvas, paints, brushes, and aprons are provided. No art or painting experience necessary, only a willingness to have fun with others while creating your own work of art!

    Bring your own beverages (wine is definitely ok to bring) and small snacks to share if you’d like. Cups, plates, and napkins are provided.

Brush & Banter: A Paint and Sip Event

FIRST THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH enjoy a fun-filled evening out with friends at Brush & Banter, a paint and sip event. Step-by-step instructor led painting. No prior art experience is necessary. The canvas, all art supplies, and aprons will be provided. You're invited to bring small finger food snacks to share (small plates & napkins provided), your own beverages (yes, you can bring wine!), and a willingness to have fun and get creative!

$40 per person. ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED as class size is limited. Contact Patricia Murphy to register and pay or by phone/text at (717) 823-1107. Advance payment via check/cash, PayPal or Venmo.

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTOR: Pat Murphy is a recent transplant to Scott County from Bowie, Maryland. Her love for art started in childhood and has continued throughout her life. Ten years ago she began formal instruction through the Sage Program of Prince George's County Community College in Bowie, Maryland. She was instructed in Mixed Media, Acrylic, Watercolor, Modern Art and Drawing. She is an avid sewist and has make many quilts, wall-hangings, collages, and custom wedding gowns. She is currently a member of the Art2Life program and has participated in the SPARK program and Open Studio. She has hung her artwork in solo and group exhibits. Her goal in teaching Brush & Banter is to bring people together who want to be creative and to have a good time doing it.

Come up and plan to enjoy some great German food and beers, music, and games! We’ll have the bonfire roaring and firepits going to ring in fall on the Cumberland Plateau in the best way possible! Wear your lederhosen or dirndls if you have them! CASH and CREDIT CARDS accepted for food and beverage purchases. Non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Love to solve crime? Love the idea of a fun evening out for New Year’s Eve, but not a night owl? New Year celebrations on the hour!

Dress up for a fun-filled night out and you can help us solve a murder that’s set to happen sometime New Year’s Eve. Are YOU a suspect? Hmmm, we’ll see! We plan to celebrate multiple time zones throughout the evening and you can duck out at any time you want after any of the countdowns (9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12am)! No pressure to stay up all night, just fun! Celebrate once or multiple times … it’s totally up to you! And WHILE you’re celebrating with your friends, you can help us solve the crime by rounding up suspects and figuring out WHODUNIT!!!!! What a night!

The dance floor will be out and HOT so come ring in 2026 with fun, laughter, and friends!

All proceeds benefit the Scott County Domestic Violence Shelter. The shelter provides a safe haven for survivors of domestic violence.

Grab some friends and join us for an evening of fun! Ten rounds of trivia and in-between contests with prizes. Decorate yourselves and your table in an Old Hollywood Glam or movie of your choice theme. Prize awarded for the Best Decorated Table!

Doors open at 6:00pm. Decorate your table and mingle with friends until 7:00pm and then let the games begin!

Christmas in July - Trivia Night (Benefitting “For the Love of Paws”)

Grab a group of friends for a table and have a night of fun playing TRIVIA!  Ten rounds of general trivia and between-round contests with $ prizes. 

We are raising money (so entry fee is tax deductible!)  to benefit “For the Love of Paws” whose mission it is to humanely reduce the number of stray and abandoned dogs and cats in our community by providing low cost spay and neuter services as well as educational opportunities that promote responsible pet ownership.

Come to trivia night and decorate yourselves and your group’s table in a Christmas in July theme. Prizes for best decorated table!

Doors open at 6 pm.  Decorate your table and enjoy visiting with friends from 6-7 pm.

Trivia will begin promptly at 7 pm. 

Price: $25 per person or $120 per table of up to 6 or $160 per table up to 8.  Mulligans (free guesses) available for purchase. Cash prizes to winners. Pop-up Restaurant Night at Timber Rock Lodge: Taste of Italy

Choose your main course for this 3-course Italian Dinner at Timber Rock Lodge.

Begin with warm bread with Italian herbs and olive oil and a delicious Caesar Salad (mix of romaine hearts, fresh garlic, hard boiled eggs, Parmesan cheese, and a creamy Caesar dressing

Choose Between:

  • Lasagna - layers of pasta, cheese, and meat (Italian sausage and beef) in a homemade marinara sauce.

  • Chicken Parmesan with side of spaghetti - tender, fried chicken cutlet topped with homemade marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.

  • Tour of Italy - a sampling of 3 Italian favorites! A portion of Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan and Sausage & Peppers (Italian sausage sauteed with bell peppers and onions in a homemade tomato sauce).

  • Child’s dinner - Spaghetti with Meatballs.

Finish with a tasty dessert of Tiramisu Brownie - a twist on two dessert favorites. A layer of brownie flavored with rum extract and brushed with coffee, topped with a creamy whipped topping and dusted with cocoa powder.

Live Action Game of “Clues" Murder Mystery

Whodunnit?!? Come to Timber Rock Lodge and experience the thrill of the hunt as you and your team move through The Lodge to solve the case. Your team will solve puzzles, play games of chance, and generally work together to eliminate suspects and make your guess about who did it, where, and with what weapon.

Prizes to be earned for correct guesses.

This will be a roaming party with hors d'oeuvres and drinks available as you make your way from room to room.

You can buy individual tickets and we will assign you to a team, or coordinate with friends, buy tickets together and agree to a team name - up to 10 people per team.

Before trivia begins, shop local artists' music, books, and art supplied by the Appalachian Society of the Arts! The artists themselves will be there!

Come to trivia night dressed in green and decorate yourselves and your group’s table in a St. Paddy’s Day theme. Prizes for best decorated table!

Doors open at 5:00 p.m.  Shop the arts and decorate your table from 5-7.

Trivia will start at 7:00 pm.
